But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, GuestCompanionFriend, go up higher: then shalt thou have honorrespectworship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee. For whosoever elevatesexaltethlifts himself shall be abasedloweredhumbled; and he that lowerssubmitshumbleth himself shall be honoredexaltedelevated. Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a banquetfeastdinner or a supper, call not thy companionsfriendsassociates, nor thy brethrenbrothersrelatives, neither thy kindredkinsmenfamily, nor thy wealthyrichaffluent neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a rewardrepaymentrecompence be made thee. But when thou makest a feast, call the poordestituteneedy, the injureddisabledmaimed, the lameweakcrippled, the sightlessblindvisionless: And thou shalt be blessedhonoredrewarded; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrectionreturnawakening of the just.
