But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, CompanionFriendGuest, go up higher: then shalt thou have worshiprespecthonor in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee. For whosoever exaltethliftselevates himself shall be abasedloweredhumbled; and he that humblethlowerssubmits himself shall be elevatedexaltedhonored. Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a banquetdinnerfeast or a supper, call not thy companionsfriendsassociates, nor thy brothersrelativesbrethren, neither thy kinsmenkindredfamily, nor thy affluentwealthyrich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a rewardrepaymentrecompence be made thee. But when thou makest a feast, call the destituteneedypoor, the maimeddisabledinjured, the weakcrippledlame, the sightlessblindvisionless: And thou shalt be honoredrewardedblessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the awakeningreturnresurrection of the just.
