It is quite shocking to learn that so many Christians would rather prefer to be idle and would do other things and not make any effort to evangelize to win any soul for Jesus regardless of the so many Scriptural warnings, commands and incentives that should rather lead one to evangelize and win souls for Jesus Christ. These are just a few of such Scriptures:
Win souls because you love and care about them
You enjoy the company of some people; you care for some people; you love some people dearly; you wish people well; etc. To speak frankly, not all of these people you love and care about are saved. Some friends of yours are everything but Christians; some friends of yours have long backslidden, some friends of yours are in other religions; etc. Irrespective of what you think, the only way to salvation is Christ Jesus (John 14:6).
Now have you ever for once considered where all these lovely people will end up – whether in heaven or in hell? Have you for once thought about where these people are heading to, whether to salvation or to damnation? The hour of grace is now; now that there is a chance, make the most of it. Show your relatives and your friends some true love by creating the opportunity for their souls to be saved. How? Share the gospel of Jesus Christ with them. By winning your unbelieving friends and relatives for Christ, you prove to love them dearly.
Win souls because you have been commanded to do so
Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” John 20:21
He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Mark 16:15
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20
Win souls because there is an incentives for doing so
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise. Proverb 11:30
Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever. Daniel 12:3
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2Ti 4:7-8
Win souls because you have been warned to do so
Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me. When I say to a wicked man, ‘You will surely die,’ and you do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him from his evil ways in order to save his life, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood. But if you do warn the wicked man and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his evil ways, he will die for his sin; but you will have saved yourself. Ezekiel 3:17-19
20 Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and does evil, and I put a stumbling block before him, he will die. Since you did not warn him, he will die for his sin. The righteous things he did will not be remembered, and I will hold you accountable for his blood. 21 But if you do warn the righteous man not to sin and he does not sin, he will surely live because he took warning, and you will have saved yourself. Ezekiel 3:20-21
