DR. GRIFFITH E. THOMAS, Principal of Wycliffe Hall, Oxford; and Professor of Apologetics in Wycliffe College, Toronto.

At a Conference in America, Dr. Griffith Thomas gave an account of his conversion at seventeen, but explained that for about eighteen months he had an up and down experience, bringing a sense of failure. Then he was led to cast himself on God, and to cry for a fuller experience. Speedily two texts were specially impressed on his mind: “Yield yourselves unto God” and “Abide in Him.”

He felt that he was to present himself again to God, as if he had never done it ; and then to “Stay where you are.” The two words “yield” and “abide” were blessed to his soul; he realised what Christ can be in the believer’s life; and thirty-eight years after the two words were still with him.

Dr. GRIFFITH THOMAS occupied very important posts in Oxford and Toronto; was the author of several important books; took part in Keswick and many other conventions. He was suddenly called to his Rest on 2nd June, 1924.
