But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, FriendCompanionGuest, go up higher: then shalt thou have worshiprespecthonor in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee. For whosoever liftselevatesexalteth himself shall be loweredabasedhumbled; and he that lowerssubmitshumbleth himself shall be honoredexaltedelevated. Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a feastbanquetdinner or a supper, call not thy companionsassociatesfriends, nor thy brethrenrelativesbrothers, neither thy familykindredkinsmen, nor thy richwealthyaffluent neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a repaymentrewardrecompence be made thee. But when thou makest a feast, call the poordestituteneedy, the disabledmaimedinjured, the weakcrippledlame, the visionlesssightlessblind: And thou shalt be rewardedblessedhonored; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrectionawakeningreturn of the just.
