But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, GuestCompanionFriend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worshiphonorrespect in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee. For whosoever exaltethelevateslifts himself shall be humbledabasedlowered; and he that submitslowershumbleth himself shall be honoredelevatedexalted. Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinnerfeastbanquet or a supper, call not thy friendscompanionsassociates, nor thy brethrenbrothersrelatives, neither thy kinsmenfamilykindred, nor thy wealthyaffluentrich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompencerewardrepayment be made thee. But when thou makest a feast, call the destituteneedypoor, the injuredmaimeddisabled, the crippledlameweak, the blindsightlessvisionless: And thou shalt be rewardedhonoredblessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrectionawakeningreturn of the just.
