But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, FriendGuestCompanion, go up higher: then shalt thou have respecthonorworship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee. For whosoever liftsexaltethelevates himself shall be humbledabasedlowered; and he that humblethlowerssubmits himself shall be exaltedelevatedhonored. Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a feastbanquetdinner or a supper, call not thy friendscompanionsassociates, nor thy brothersrelativesbrethren, neither thy kindredkinsmenfamily, nor thy wealthyaffluentrich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a repaymentrewardrecompence be made thee. But when thou makest a feast, call the poordestituteneedy, the maimedinjureddisabled, the weaklamecrippled, the sightlessvisionlessblind: And thou shalt be blessedrewardedhonored; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrectionreturnawakening of the just.
