But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, FriendCompanionGuest, go up higher: then shalt thou have respectworshiphonor in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee. For whosoever elevatesexaltethlifts himself shall be loweredhumbledabased; and he that lowershumblethsubmits himself shall be exaltedelevatedhonored. Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a feastbanquetdinner or a supper, call not thy associatesfriendscompanions, nor thy brethrenrelativesbrothers, neither thy familykinsmenkindred, nor thy richwealthyaffluent neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a rewardrecompencerepayment be made thee. But when thou makest a feast, call the poordestituteneedy, the disabledmaimedinjured, the crippledlameweak, the blindsightlessvisionless: And thou shalt be honoredrewardedblessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the returnresurrectionawakening of the just.
