But he, willing to justify his actions his words himself , said unto Jesus, And who is my brother neighbour fellow ? And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem the temple the city to a village a town Jericho , and fell among bandits thieves robbers , which stripped him of his garments clothes raiment , and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half alive broken dead . And by chance there came down a certain religious leader priest holy man that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. And likewise a temple assistant minister Levite , when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side. But a certain traveler Samaritan stranger , as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion mercy pity on him, And went to him, and bound up his wounds injuries bruises , pouring in balm ointment oil and wine, and set him on his own animal donkey beast , and brought him to an shelter inn lodging , and took care of him. And on the next day following morning morrow when he departed, he took out two pence pieces of silver coins , and gave them to the innkeeper caretaker host , and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will settle reimburse repay thee. Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves? And he said, He that displayed gave shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou as he did the same likewise .
