An American Millionaire
J. PIERPONT MORGAN, the American financier, head of the Atlantic Shipping Combine and the American Steel Trust, with a capital of some 280 millions, passed away rather suddenly in 1913, in his 76th year. One clause of his will, dated 4th Jan., 1913, is specially interesting. He declares: “I commit my soul into the hands of my Saviour, full of confidence that, having redeemed it and washed it with His Precious Blood, He will present it faultless before the Throne of my Heavenly Father,” and he added: “I entreat my children to maintain and defend at all hazard, and at any cost of personal sacrifice, the blessed doctrine of complete atonement of sin through the Blood of Jesus Christ once offered, and through that alone.”
