In the days when Jesus went from place to place doing His ministry, while teaching, He made a lot of statements that were nothing more than His claims – His claims of being a deity or being of a higher essence or of a higher purpose than what the people of His day thought. His claims which were intended to draw the people to believe in Him rather became subjects of disagreement, hatred, and condemnation. In John 6, for example, the Jews strongly disagreed with Jesus when He said He is the bread of life or the bread that came from heaven. Examples of Jesus’ claims in the Bible are:
Jesus claims to be Master and Lord
Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. John 13:13
If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour. John 12:26

Jesus claims to be in the Father
At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. John 14:20
Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. John 14:10
Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake. John 14:11
That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. John 17:21
Jesus claims to be the light of the world

I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. John 6:51
Jesus claims to be a king
Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. John 18:37
Jesus claims to be the resurrection and the life
25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? John 11:25-26

1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. John 14:1-3
Jesus claims to be the Good Shepherd
