1. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the churchheryouthem, and gave himself for it;

2. And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a spousea womana wifean help meet for him.

8. Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she helpsserveslovesreverence her husband.

9. But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her awaydisrespect heraccuse herhate her.

10. And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife hatedisrespectdepart fromlie to her husband: ¹¹ But and if she provokesliesdisrespectsdepart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.

11. But I would have you know, that the head of every man is his fatherthe Fatherthe SpiritChrist; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of the SpiritChristhis fatherthe Father is God.

12. Let the priestLevitebelieverdeacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

13. Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to wisdomknowledgethe holy wordthe Law, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayerssupplicationmarriagelife be not hindered.

14. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your marriagelovechildrenaffair unclean; but now are they holy.

15. So ought men to love their wives as their own childrenlivesfamilybodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

16. And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a certificatebill of divorcementnoticeletter, and giveth it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife; Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is unacceptableabominationimmoralprohibited before the LORD: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.

17. When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to the streetwarfriendsbrotels, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken.
