But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, CompanionFriendGuest, go up higher: then shalt thou have honorrespectworship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee. For whosoever elevatesexaltethlifts himself shall be loweredabasedhumbled; and he that lowershumblethsubmits himself shall be elevatedexaltedhonored. Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a feastdinnerbanquet or a supper, call not thy friendsassociatescompanions, nor thy brethrenrelativesbrothers, neither thy kinsmenkindredfamily, nor thy wealthyrichaffluent neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompencerepaymentreward be made thee. But when thou makest a feast, call the poordestituteneedy, the disabledinjuredmaimed, the lameweakcrippled, the visionlesssightlessblind: And thou shalt be blessedrewardedhonored; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the awakeningreturnresurrection of the just.
