But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, GuestFriendCompanion, go up higher: then shalt thou have worshiprespecthonor in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee. For whosoever liftsexaltethelevates himself shall be humbledabasedlowered; and he that lowerssubmitshumbleth himself shall be honoredexaltedelevated. Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinnerbanquetfeast or a supper, call not thy friendsassociatescompanions, nor thy brothersrelativesbrethren, neither thy kindredkinsmenfamily, nor thy affluentrichwealthy neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a repaymentrecompencereward be made thee. But when thou makest a feast, call the needypoordestitute, the maimedinjureddisabled, the weakcrippledlame, the sightlessblindvisionless: And thou shalt be rewardedblessedhonored; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrectionreturnawakening of the just.
