But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, GuestCompanionFriend, go up higher: then shalt thou have honorworshiprespect in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee. For whosoever elevatesexaltethlifts himself shall be loweredabasedhumbled; and he that lowerssubmitshumbleth himself shall be elevatedexaltedhonored. Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinnerbanquetfeast or a supper, call not thy associatescompanionsfriends, nor thy relativesbrothersbrethren, neither thy kindredkinsmenfamily, nor thy richwealthyaffluent neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a repaymentrecompencereward be made thee. But when thou makest a feast, call the poorneedydestitute, the maimedinjureddisabled, the crippledlameweak, the sightlessvisionlessblind: And thou shalt be rewardedhonoredblessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the returnresurrectionawakening of the just.
